Sava Center, 14-16 November, 2011
"Green Screen Fest" is the only event in Serbia that is listed on the official calendar of UN events marking the "Year of Forests." UN Forum on Forests provided the screening of 13 documentaries from different world authors in the part of the programme entitled "Forests for people." This year’s festival has been supported by the Secretariat of Environmental Protection of the City of Belgrade, Serbian Environmental Protection Fund and Ministry of Culture, Media and Information Society of the Republic of Serbia.
GREEN SQUARE is an informative exhibition area dedicated to organizations and individuals who develop innovative green programs and ideas. Presentations and demonstrations of inventions, display cases and photographs will form a square to welcome all visitors to the Festival. This exhibition will feature three student companies from Belgrade: professor Ivan Radovic sowed the seeds of recycling among students of the Technical School "Zmaj" in Zemun. Students of the Agricultural department wholeheartedly accepted it and decided to cultivate it. They found a place for it immediately and planted it in the centre of the students’ company "Limen", where it was safe from pests and diseases. They realized that good soil for the seeds are aluminium cans, because they can be re-used for furniture production. With the slogan: "Recycling grows!" Limen moves towards a healthier future.
The student company "KONCHAR CREW" consists of a group of students from the Electrical Technician School "Rade Koncar" from Belgrade. The company produces magnets for refrigirators , air fresheners, decorative items, pencil cases made from recycled electronic waste. The company operates in order to present the school and promote the skills of the students through extracurricular activities, in a creative way. The aim of this action was the recycling of electronic waste, whereby the school joined the idea of environmental issues.
The student company "Smart off" was established in 2011 by Dental School students in Belgrade, with a vision to become a synonym for a student company that is continuously setting higher standards, both in the field of business and in the field of quality of life. Their two products - "Smart pots" and "Lung dragon" are practical, environmentally friendly and useful items, manufactured in accordance with the principles of social responsibility.
GREEN FIELD is a place set up for new educational approaches through peer and experts education programs that consists of workshops and lectures. The program is intended for the primary school students and youth population in general. The student company EKOZOV and the Agricultural School PK "Belgrade", which is also in the Junior Achievement programme, are going to introduce themselves.
EKOZOV is a company founded by the students from the Medical School in Belgrade. It was established in June, 2007. It currently consists of 20 members, students from the second year, laboratory department. The director of the company is a student, Daniel Mazic, while the mentor is professor Milena Stojicic. The company’s main activity is collecting materials for recycling and protecting the environment from pollution. Their small company deals with the big and important job of collecting white paper and returning it to use the manual production of paper. Handmade paper can then be used for ornamental envelopes, greeting cards, boxes, wrappers or other decorative objects.
We would like to thank the Centre for Environmental Development which invited our student companies engaged in environmental protection to present themselves at this festival.
