The Social Enterprise Program is a pan-European program which aims to increase the pool of potential social entrepreneurs by providing access to education in social enterprise to young people. Social Enterprise is gaining momentum worldwide as companies and entrepreneurs are adapting to new ways of doing business, applying their skills and ingenuity to solve social problems in sustainable ways. Educating young people to be successful social entrepreneurs is an important part of spreading the word and building new opportunities for the future. The Social Enterprise Program is bringing the worlds of education, training, skills, work and community closer together to inspire and recognize young social entrepreneurs. Its aim is to increase the pool of potential social entrepreneurs by providing access to education in social enterprise to young people age 15-18 across Europe.

With the financial support from the Social Inclusion and Poverty Reduction Unit, during February and March JA Serbia organized four regional trainings in social entrepreneurship for high school students and teachers. Trainings were held in Nis, Novi Sad, Belgrade and Pozega and gathered 100 students and 20 teachers. It resulted with the creation of 23 student companies/social enterprises. All students participating in the program had an opportunity to attend online sessions - a virtual place where students meet and talk with real social entrepreneurs. This was a unique opportunity for students to interact with social entrepreneurs from around the world, learn about their success story and get inspired by asking questions regarding their own social enterprises and getting a valuable feedback.

The Social Enterprise Program is being implemented for four years in a row and 12 European countries including Serbia participate in it. Student companies in Serbia will compete at the National Best Social Enterprise Competition and the winners will attend the European Best Social Enterprise Competition.
