Eventhough JAS is relatively young organization it has had number
of promotional activities which understood presentations on National
and local TV and radio stations (TV Politika, radio B92, local TV
in Kikinda, Niš, Leskovac, Vranje, etc); and articles in national
and local papers (Politika, Blic, Nacional, and numerous local papers).
In order to promote the program in SE Serbia, in January 2004 JAS
has organized Demo MESE competition for high school students. The
event was organized in 4 towns of SE Serbia: Bor, Niš, Vranje and
Leskovac. Around 400 students and their teachers from the region
attended the events. It could be said that these demo competitions
hit the target since they raised the attention among students and
teachers, attracted the attention of local media and were attended
by local Goverment officials and representatives of local companies.
In order to provide means for running the program, JAS has been
active in animating bussines community and the donors. A result
of this activity was: a USAID (CHF) grant for running the program
in SE Serbia for three years; and donations from Kikinda and Zenjanin
municipalities for running JA programs on regular basis, in these
towns.
Having in mind the importance of support from business community
for continuation of JA program in Serbia, several presentation have
been made before the influential and successful companies: HP -
Serbia, Zepter International, Pharmaceutical Corporation Hemofarm,
Media House Politika, etc. Presentations were quite successful and
they created very positive effect - we have got first contributions
from business community; among most considerable is donation from
HP - Serbia. In a coming school year we expect that these activities
will have even greater impact, resulting in significant support
of business community to JAS activities. |
