Junior Achievement in Serbia in Novi Sad

A presentation of JAS program in Novi Sad was held on February 16, 2005. in a high school . Invited by the 'Centre for development of science, technology and information', which is a JAS partner, sufficient number of teachers and students from numerous high schools from Novi Sad and surronding area were present.

On behalf of the city of Novi Sad, the meeting was adreessed by the Secretary for education, Mr. Petar Viđikant. JAS program was presented by Ms. Svetlana Maletin and Mr. Nenad Ristić. After the presentation, MESE program was presented and MESE demo contest was organized. At first round, the participants were divided in 16 teams competing in two markets, whileas four first ranked teams advanced to the new round. Senior students of the hosting gymnasium, now the veterans in MESE, were of big help in organizing the event as well as giving explanations to the student competitors. MESE simulation showed to be very attractive both to students and teachers.

At the beggining of March, the first city MESE contest will be organized which will at the same time be a qualification for National contest.

Day after the event in CNTI, the interview was given for the daily (Prof. Dr. Slobodan Popov i Svetlana Maletin). A week after, it is planned to have a reception with the city authorities. Mr. Petar Viđikant expressed his opinion that this is the activity that city authorities should finance.
