Novi Pazar JA presentation & a regional MESE Competition

The JA-Program presentation in Novi Pazar has atracted around 30 participants (and their teachers) from the three regionally neighbouring municipalities: Novi Pazar, Nova Varos and Ivanjica. The overall great sstudents' interest for the event, and the created competitive atmosphere were exceptionally positive, which can be seen at the attached photographs. Also,the hosting party, the Novi Pazar students and their teachers - have been very much friendly and hospitable to the visiting MESE teams from Nova Varos and Ivanjica. There have been altogether eight MESE teams representing the following four schools:
- The hide & textile processing school, Novi Pazar;
- Commercial school, Novi Pazar;
- The Raska Gymnasium;
- The Nova Varos Gymnasium;
For this competition a single market has been organized and the winner was not known to the very end of competition
The competition results success-distances measured in points were fairly close: so while the winning team had won 172 points; the last (8 th ) one had won 139 points - thus indicating an overall good mastering the MESE tecnique, as well as understanding of general principles of economics & business - which appears to be rather stimulating for all of competing teams.
On the whole, this event has fully satisfied its goals and assignments, including the fact that there have been lots of new friendships established. The participants have had even the opportunity to attend a fashion review, since Novi Pazar in recent times has become a strong textile industry centre.
All this indicates that the JA program has very good prospects in this region, since peole there do have a strong tradition of pursuing home-businesses and nurturing entrepreneurial skills mostly with their own resources - which has been manifested at the fashion-revue, too.
