Final Student Event in School Year 2007/2008

(Mountain Resorts Koponik, May 18^th-19^th 2008)

From June 18-19, 2008, students from 12 student companies and 8 SCOPES municipalities, including Arilje, gathered on Kopaonik on 18th and 19th of June 2008, for a final JAS student event in school year 2007/08. Each of the student companies were represented by 2 student representative and their teacher/ mentor. The event was attended by main sposors of the JA program in these municipalities: USAID and SCOPES representatives: Deputy Chief of USAID Mission, Ms. Marilyn Schmidt, SCOPES CoP , Mr. Michael Pillsbury and their associates; National and local media. The facilitators of the event were JAS staff (Zvonko Brnjas, Mirela Orabović).

On the first day, 18th of June, students arranged little stands in the conference room, where they presented their products and displayed promotional materials (posters, leaflets pictures, business cards, etc.).

At the second day representatives of the student companies have presented the work of their companies. The teachers/mentors from each of municipalities, and two SCOPES coordinators were assigned in the jury which has evaluated the achievements of student companies.

At the end of the event, three first places were announced, and these were the following student companies:

I place: General School from Novi Pazar; Student Company "PLAY";
II place: Secondary School "Sveti Ahilije" from Arilje; Student Company "Junior vision" ;
III place: Medical school from Novi Pazar; Student Company "White team".

Special recognition was the biggest turnover and profit made was awarded to Student Company Junior`s Skills from Preševo.

The winners have got diplomas, medals and rewards (desk-top computer, digital camera and multifunctional computer device).
